How was Armando & Sons Custom Rock Cutters started?
In 1988 Armando moved to a small town called Delta, Utah it was there where he learned the art of carving stones in to shapes such as buffaloes, bears, spheres, obelisks bookends, hearts, eggs, cabochons and other carving designs. After working a few years for that Lapidary Company and mastering the art of rock carving, it was then when he decided to start up his own company. After saving up some money, he opened up his own Lapidary shop in Nuevo Casas Grande’s, Chihuahua Mexico. His idea was to build lapidary company that could compete in the global markets. In order to achieve this he would have to cut and polish the highest quality of lapidary rock carvings to sell at gem & lapidary shows. His finished carved stones soon became known by his lapidary peers as some of the highest and best-finished carvings in the industry and soon after, he was recognized as one of the top lapidary manufacturing companies. In 2008, Armando built a second very successful company known as Armando & Sons Custom Rock Cutters and is internationally renowned for his carving of lapidary figures and the polished finish on those stones. He currently specializes in cabochons free form cuts. He is also well known in the industry for his mines of Birds Eye Rhyolite and Sierra Madre Agate.
